JASPA is still ES3
Because JASPA generates regular JavaScript it prefers to catch errors at compile time too. However, unlike AS2 it will attempt runtime checks in the case of ambiguity. As this comes with a performance overhead, strictly-typed code will run much better and give a much better chance of catching errors.
